A Trip Down Memory Lane

It was really fun to run around the neighborhood again(ok, it's something I haven't done since I was umm....six, but still, fun)  It's strange to go back to my home town and see how much has changed....and how much is the same.  There was a lot the same, its a small farming community and still has the old families living here.
The run went, ok.  It was weird not to be where I've been training.  I know I'm going to get some flack for this, but I run on the sidewalks.  I know it's harder on the joints and can cause problems, I just like having that sure footing.
The problem is, here, there is only one stretch of sidewalk and it only runs for two blocks.  So the majority of my run was off the side of the road, in the dirt.   Dirt is hard to run on for me.  I had to be extra careful not to trip on the weeds and bumps and my feet sunk in just enough that it was hard to get my speed going.  I think I could get used to it, if I had to but right now I'm missing my pace on the sidewalk.  I added 30 seconds to my running time.  It's not a ton, but I feel it.  My running pace has been doing ok, but my overall has been dropping each time I run, I think I need to focus on making sure I still walk at a decent speed.  Just a few goals to work on in the next week and a half.

  1. You are doing great!! I am curious what program if any are you using to keep track of your pace and distance? I have been using Cardio tracker on my android phone and like it but have already had one day it was way off. I use it since it tells me what distance I am going and how fast during my run plus plays my music automatically for me. It uses GPS and has been great except the one time.
